The 美姬社区Quality Collaborative will produce a final Perinatal Optimisation toolkit entitled 鈥Successful Perinatal Teams to Improve Preterm Outcomes鈥.

This toolkit will be produced by a multi-professional group who have experience in leading culture change for the better in their maternity and/or neonatal service (Role A). We will also invite contributions to the toolkit from 美姬社区members who provide examples of innovative smaller scale improvements in team-working (Role B).

The toolkit will be aligned to national drivers for perinatal culture change and will present a range of activities to enhance improved team-working around Perinatal Optimisation. Applicants should choose from either Role A or Role B and follow the Application Guidance below.

Role A.
On application to join this group, individuals should demonstrate experience in leading or having a significant role in culture change or improved team-working within their maternity and/or neonatal service and ideally this improvement work will have involved:
o The multi-professional perinatal team
o At least one element of Perinatal Optimisation

The group will meet online 3-4 times over 4 months. The first meeting will be the 12th May at 3pm. Each member will actively participate in the development of the document between meetings by:
1. sharing expertise and resources
2. seeking views from their professional bodies where relevant
3. researching the evidence
4. reviewing and commenting on draft documents

The membership of the Perinatal Team Toolkit group will include:
鈥 Chair: Julie-Clare Becher
鈥 美姬社区Executive Committee Members with experience in improving perinatal teamworking: Sarah Bates and Cora Doherty
鈥 MatNeoSIP Lead: Tony Kelly
鈥 Neonatologist (3, and will include SCU representation)
鈥 Obstetrician (3)
鈥 Midwife (2)
鈥 Neonatal Nurse including ANP (2)
鈥 Neonatal or Obstetric Trainee (1)
鈥 Anaesthetist (1)

Role B.
美姬社区members are invited to contribute examples of smaller scale involvement in improving culture and working across the perinatal team.  This may include examples of optimising communication, streamlining pathways, celebrating success, and improving relationships. These examples should be supported with evidence of sustained improvement in culture where possible, but examples of innovation and experiential insights will also be welcome.  If accepted for inclusion, full acknowledgement of the member鈥檚 contribution will be included in the toolkit. In this role there will be no need to attend toolkit meetings.
