This skills-based course is designed for midwives, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals working in prenatal testing. It equips participants with essential tools for genetic counselling, including taking family histories, identifying high-risk cases, obtaining consent, and discussing test results. The course covers the scientific foundations of prenatal genetics and links theory to practice through case studies and exercises. It also provides updates on emerging technologies and guidance on when to refer patients to clinical genetics.
By the end, participants will have a solid introduction to prenatal genetic counselling and practical skills for managing complex scenarios in clinical practice.
