We are seeking a NICU consultant for each operational delivery network (ODN) in the UK to join our brand new special interest group (SIG) Nanopreterm. This multi-professional community will focus on delivering optimal care and improving outcomes for babies born 22-23+6 weeks.
To be eligible to apply for this role you must:
- Be employed in a UK NICU (i.e. tertiary centre) as a Neonatologist
- Have experience of looking after several 22/23 week infants and/or experience of planning services for 22/23 week infants
- Be a ÃÀ¼§ÉçÇømember.
You will be expected to:
- Attend a minimum of 2 meetings of the Nanopreterm SIG per year (or ensure attendance by a Network deputy)
- Work together with Network leads to develop a multidisciplinary Nano Preterm regional group including Neonatal nurses and doctors, AHPs, Midwifes, Obstetricians, and parents
- Engage with and represent your Network at the Nanopreterm Executive committee, to feedback challenges, uncertainties and share learning.
- Support and disseminate research, education and QI initiatives and resources relating to the work of the Nanopreterm SIG throughout your Network
- Be aware of your local Network figures and outcomes of 22-23 weeks gestation
- Be able to share local learning relating to care of 22-23 week infants with the SIG
- Stay abreast of the evidence pertaining to Nanopreterm care and outcomes
